Are there things that people want you to do that you just don't like to do? I don't mean things that will improve your functioning, health or position in life, but those things that you have just decided you don't want to do. As an example, I'm not a "telephone person", but I will talk on the phone when the mood strikes me or it's necessary. There are a special few to whom I "ease" my rule-my mother (of course); my best friend, Mother McClurkin, who is 95 years-old and with whom I spend every Saturday speaking with for at least an hour; my close family members; and for business clients and colleagues. Other than that I'm pretty content without telephone conversations. I think I'm pretty well adjusted and sociable, so that's not an issue. Do you find it humorous that people can become upset or offended if you don't want to do something that they want you to do? Oh, by the way, I don't "text" either. Let the "pressure" to do that begin. What about you? What's your "It's Just Not Me" issue?
